Prince Arinze Arum, CEO of the Enugu State Gaming and Lotto Commission, addressed regulatory oversight at the EGC 2026 conference. He identified compliance enforcement as the main obstacle to development across African gaming jurisdictions.
Arum stated that African regulatory frameworks are adjusting to ongoing market changes. The continent’s iGaming sector has transitioned toward digital operations, which requires updated monitoring tools. Existing legal structures frequently lack the resources needed to supervise online platforms.

The Enugu State Gaming and Lotto Commission is introducing new procedures to align with these digital shifts. Arum noted that enhanced enforcement mechanisms will determine the stability of local gaming sectors. Several African jurisdictions are currently reviewing comparable compliance models to support industry expansion.Source: oniGaming.
